Assam Secretariat Syllabus 2020: Assam Secretariat has invited application for the posts of 170 Junior Administrative Assistant (JAA) vacancy.  In this article we will discuss about Assam Secretariat JAA syllabus, selection process and guide books. At the end, we will also a few past years' question papers.

Assam Secretariat Syllabus 2020 Full Details:

Name of post: Junior Administrative Assistant
No of posts: 170 Posts 

Educational Qualification:

a) The applicants must be Graduate in any discipline from a recognized University with minimum 45% marks, 40% for SC/ST candidates in their degree examination.
b) The candidates must possess a minimum 6 (six) months Diploma/Certificate in computer proficiency from a recognized institute. They must have good working knowledge of office productivity software tools (independent of any operating system, r.e. MS Windows, Linux, MAC etc.) such as Word Processor, Spread Sheet, presentation graphics, concept of database, internet and email.



Selection Process:

There shall be two phases of selection

Phase-I: The candidates whose applications are accepted will be required to appear in an objective type written test to be held in the District Headquarters of Assam. The syllabus of the Objective Type Written Test will be as follows.

Part A: General English

Part A includes questions from:

a) Meaning of idiom/phrase
b) Best substitute for the given words/sentences
c) Error in a sentence
d) Synonyms
e) Fill in the blank with one of the four alternative
f) Jumbled sentence

Part B: General Knowledge

Part B includes questions from:

a) Indian Polity
b) General Science
c) Awards
d) Geography
e) Assam History
f) Modern Indian History
g) UNO
h) Books and Authors
i) Human Body
j) Computer Basics
k) Abbreviation
l) Sports

Part C: Quantitative Aptitude

Part C includes question from:

a) Sets and Union
b) Ratio
c) Number System
d) Simple division and share
e) Root
f) Simple Interest
g) Profit, Loss and Discount
h) Trigonometry
i) Geometry
j) Arithmetic mean
k) Divisibility Test
l) Upstream and Downstream
m) Quadratic equation
n) Permutation and Combination
o) Work, Man & Days
p) Speed

Phase-lI: Against each vacancy, three candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of the marks obtained in the written test. After the written test, the shortlisted candidates will have to appear in a Computer Practical Test and Precis Writing test to be held centrally in Guwahati. Total marks for the Computer (Practical) Test will be 50 Marks and Precis Writing Test will be 50 Marks.

Note: They will have to bring all the original testimonials i.e. Age proof Certificate, Caste Certificate (in case of reserved category candidates), Educational Qualification Certificates
and Marksheet, Computer Proficiency Certificate, Income and Asset Certificate of the family issued by the competent authority (in case of candidates belonging to EWS), Employment Exchange Registration Certificate, Disability Certificate (in case of PwD candidates) and Declaration in Form-"A" as available in the website.

Guide Books:

We enlist a list of books for the preparation of Assam Secretariat Recruitment 2020 subject wise. Although you can go for any guide books available in the market, but this will never help you in clearing your concepts to crack future examinations.

So, it is advisable to buy text books, carefully understand the concepts, and then solve question papers from previous years. One can buy these texts online or from any local shop.
