Directorate of Research (Agri.), Assam Agricultural University (AAU), Jorhat has invited application for the recruitment of 33 Senior Scientist & Head, Subject Matter Specialist, Farm Manager, Programme Assistant, Assistant, Stenographer, Driver, and Supporting Staff posts under Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVKs) of Assam Agricultural University.

AAU Jorhat Recruitment 2026
1. Senior Scientist & Head
No of posts: 03 posts
Pay: Level-13A
Essential Qualification: Doctoral degree in the relevant field of Agriculture/Animal Science/Fisheries/Community Science/Horticulture/Sericulture with 8 years' experience (excluding the period spent obtaining the Ph.D.) as Scientist/Lecturer/Extension Specialist or an equivalent position in Pay Band 3 (Rs. 15,600-39,100) with grade pay of Rs. 5,400/6,000/7,000/8,000 (6th CPC), with contributions to research/teaching/extension education evidenced by published work/innovations and impact.
Desirable: Specialization in implementing extension education programmes.
2. Subject Matter Specialist (SMS)

Essential Qualification:
Lab Technician: Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture/ Animal Science/ Fishery Science/ Community Science/ Horticulture/ Sericulture from a recognized University.
Computer: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Computer Application/ IT from a recognized University.
Essential Qualification: Master's degree in Agriculture/Animal Science/Fisheries Science from a recognized University.
3. Farm Manager

Computer: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Computer Application/ IT from a recognized University.
5. Assistant

Pay: Level-6
Essential Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in any subject from a recognized University with 5 years' work experience in Accounts and establishment.
6. Stenographer Grade-III
No of posts: 01 post
Pay: Level-4
Essential Qualification: Bachelor's degree from a recognized University with working knowledge of computer (minimum 6-month Diploma in Computer Application). Candidates must also clear a dictation test in English at 80 w.p.m. for 10 minutes and transcribe it on computer within 50 minutes.
7. Driver

Pay: Level-3
Essential Qualification: Passed HSLC or equivalent examination from a recognized board. Must have driving license for both heavy and light vehicles (subject to a practical skill test) and two years' driving experience.
Desirable: one-year trade certificate from ITI and experience in motor mechanic work.
8. Supporting Staff Grade-I

Pay: Level-1
Essential Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent pass or ITI pass.
Other Criteria of AAU Jorhat Recruitment
Residentship: The candidates who are permanent residents of Assam should only apply for all categories of posts.
Age Limit: Post-wise age limit is as mentioned below.
Age Relaxation: Age relaxation for reserved categories will be as per the norms of Govt. of Assam. There is no upper age limit for in-service candidates of AAU.
