a) Vacancy Details – Teaching Posts
i) Professor
Total Posts: 10
Eligibility: As per UGC Regulation 2018 & subsequent amendments.
ii) Associate Professor
Total Posts: 22
Eligibility: As per UGC Regulation 2018 & updated guidelines.
iii) Assistant Professor
Total Posts: 26
Eligibility: As per UGC Regulation 2018 & related updates.
b) Specialized Post – Law College
i) Principal – University Law College
Total Posts: 01
Eligibility Requirements:
- LLM + Ph.D. in Law (As per BCI 2008 rule-16)
- 15 years of teaching/research/administrative experience
- Minimum 110 Research Score as per UGC Table 2 (2018)
c) Non-Teaching Recruitment – Technical & Administrative
i) Superintending Engineer (Civil)
Vacancy: 01
Eligibility:
- Civil Engineering Degree
- Govt service background or equivalent experience
- Experience in design & infrastructure construction preferred
ii) Assistant University Engineer (Civil)
Vacancy: 01
Eligibility:
- BE/B.Tech in Civil Engineering
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience
iii) Coordinator – Centre for South East Asian Studies
Vacancy: 01
Eligibility:
- MA in Social Sciences/Humanities with 60%
- Experience in related field preferable
- Good computer handling & English/Assamese writing skills
iv) Junior Engineer (Electrical)

Eligibility:
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering + 3 years exp. with Supervisor Certificate OR
- BE/B.Tech in Electrical with 1 year exp. + Supervisor Certificate
Application Fees
- All candidates: Rs. 1500/-
- SC / ST: Rs. 750/-
For the post of Junior Engineer, all applicants are required to pay Rs. 1000/- and for SC / ST candidates, the fee is Rs. 500/-

c) After submission of the ONLINE application in the portal a duly signed hard copy (pdf) of the completed application(s) must be submitted to The Registrar, Gauhati University, Guwahati- 781014, Assam along with all necessary enclosures including the proof of submission of application fee and "No objection certificate (NOC)", wherever applicable, by the last date. The envelope containing the application should be super scribed “Application for the post……… Gauhati University, Advt. No…….”
d) Commencement of Online Registration: 01.12.2025 at 10 A.M.
e) Last date of Online Registration: 31.12.2025 at 12.00 Noon
f) Last date of submission of hard copy of the application: 06.01.2026 at 5.00 P.M.
