DHAS Assam Recruitment 2025 – Apply For 54 Vacancy
Directorate of Historical and Antiquarian Studies (DHAS), Assam has invited application for the recruitment of 54 posts of Supervisor, Documentation & Conservation Expert, Field Investigator Photographer and Assistant Conservator/ Preservator vacancy on contractual basis with a fixed remuneration. Historical & Antiquarian Studies Assam Recruitment Details
1. Supervisor
No. of Post: 05
Qualification & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in History/ Archaeology Anthropology/ Sanskrit/ Assamese/ Geography/ Museology or allied subjects from a recognized university with a minimum of 3 years of experience in field research, heritage documentation, or cultural project coordination. (Master’s degree will be preferred).
Age Limit: 35 – 60 years
Monthly fixed Remuneration: Rs 30000/-
2. Documentation & Conservation Expert
No. of Post: 05
Qualification & Experience: Master’s Degree in History/ Sanskrit/ Archaeology/ Library & Information Science/ Museology/ Archival Studies/ Art History/ Chemistry with a minimum of 3 years of experience in manuscript documentation, archival work, or cultural heritage projects. Ability to read old Assamese, Sanskrit, or Tai-Ahom and other Tai scripts.
Age Limit: 35- 55 years
Monthly fixed Remuneration: Rs 25000/-

3. Field Investigator
No. of Post: 40
Qualification & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in History/ Sanskrit Assamese/ Anthropology/ Archaeology/ Folklore or related disciplines. Preference will be given to candidates with prior fieldwork experience in cultural documentation or community- based research with a willingness to travel extensively across rural and remote areas.
Age Limit: Maximum 35 years
Monthly fixed Remuneration: Rs 20000/-
4. Photographer
No. of Post: 02
Qualification & Experience: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in photography, Videographer, Media Production, Visual communication or related disciplines from a recognized institution with at least 2 years of professional experience in photography/ videography, preferably in cultural, heritage, or academic documentation projects with experience in handling DSLR cameras, lighting equipment, audio gear, and post-processing software (e.g., Adobe Lightroom, Premiere Pro, or equivalent).
Age Limit: Maximum 40 years
Monthly fixed Remuneration: Rs 20000/-

5. Assistant Conservator/ Preservator
No. of Post: 02
Qualification & Experience: Master’s or Diploma degree in Conservation, Preservation, Museology, Art Conservation, Heritage Studies, Chemistry, Material Science, or Library and Information Science with specialization in conservation/preservation. Minimum 1-3 years of practical experience in the field of conservation/preservation of manuscripts, documents, or artworks. Hands-on work with palm-leaf manuscripts, sanchi-pat, paper manuscripts, and indigenous materials preferred.
Age Limit: Maximum 40 years
Monthly fixed Remuneration: Rs 30000/-
How to Apply for DHAS, Assam Recruitment?
a) Eligible and interested candidates may appear in a Walk-in Interview as per the schedule given below:
- Date: 21st November, 2025
- Time: 11 A.M.
- Venue: at the Directorate of Historical and Antiquarian Studies, Near Meghdoot Bhawan, Panbazar, Guwahati-1, Assam.
b) The candidates must bring a Curriculum Vitae/ resume and 3 copies of passport size photographs with self-attested photocopy of all the certificates, mark sheets, experience certificates etc along with the original documents for verification.
c) The Director i/c of Directorate of Historical and Antiquarian Studies, Assam reserves the right to cancel/ postpone the interview without assigning any reason thereof.
d) The names of the shortlisted candidates will be displayed on the departmental website and also in the office notice board of Directorate of Historical and Antiquarian Studies. They may also be communicated through their respective Email IDs.
