Stipend: Rate of stipend payable to apprentices per month shall be as prescribed under Apprentices Act, 1961/ 1973/ Apprentices Rules 1992 (as amended) and Corporation‟s guidelines.
Period of Apprenticeship Training: 12 to 24 Months
Other Criteria of IOCL Apprentice Recruitment
Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and maximum age shall be 24 years as on 30/11/2025 for General/EWS candidates.
Age Relaxation: The relaxation of upper age limit for reserved categories are as follows:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC/ MOBC: 3 years
- PwBD: 10 years
- PwBD-OBC(NCL): 13 years
- PwBD-SC/ST: 15 years
Educational Qualification:
1. Trade Apprentice – Attendant Operator (Chemical Plant) Discipline – Chemical: 3 years B.Sc (Maths, Physics, Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry)
2. Trade Apprentice (Fitter) Discipline – Mechanical: Matric with ITI in Fitter Trade of minimum 2 years duration with Pass class
3. Trade Apprentice (Boiler) Discipline – Mechanical: 3 years B Sc. (Maths, Physics, Chemistry or
Industrial Chemistry)
4. Technician Apprentice Discipline – Chemical: 3 years Diploma in Chemical Engg./ Petrochemical
Engg./ Chemical Technology/ Refinery and Petrochemical Engg.
5. Technician Apprentice Discipline – Mechanical: 3 years Diploma in Mechanical Engg.
6. Technician Apprentice Discipline – Electrical: 3 years Diploma in Electrical Engg./ Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering
7. Technician Apprentice Discipline- Instrumentation: 3 years Diploma in Instrumentation

How to Apply IOCL Apprentice Recruitment?
STEP 1:
i) Candidates are advised to register as a Technician/ Trade Apprentice online in the following portals under the respective State as per their Trades below:
a) Trade Apprentice – ITI/Data Entry Operator at https://www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in/
b) Technician Apprentice – Diploma at https://nats.education.gov.in/student_register.php
ii) Candidates have to select the Apprenticeship Opportunities in the top menu. Then select in search column location as per IOCL and select the respective trade. This will prompt to login the site with the basic details. Follow the steps given by the portal and complete the registration.
iii) Candidates are therefore advised to furnish the details in the portal carefully and check the same before final submission.
STEP 2:
After applying against an opportunity in the respective NAPS/NATS Portal, the candidate must MANDATORITY complete their registration/application for apprentice positions in Indian Oil Refineries Division portal at www.iocrefrecruit.in. Option for exercising the choice of a Refinery unit has been provided in the application menu .

Syllabus of IOCL Apprentice Recruitment
a) The Selection shall be on the basis of marks obtained by the candidate in the Online Test and meeting the notified eligibility criteria.
b) The Online Test will be conducted with Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ’s) consisting of four options with one correct option.
c) The candidates will be assessed on parameters/sections as below.
Trade Apprentice (Fitter / Electrician / Electronics Mechanic / Instrument Mechanic / Machinist) & Technician Apprentice (Mechanical / Electrical /Instrumentation / Civil / Electrical & Electronics / Electronics):
• Technical Acumen in relevant discipline
• Generic Aptitude including Quantitative Aptitude
• Reasoning Abilities
• Basic English Language Skills
Graduate Apprentice (BA/B.Com/B.Sc/BBA.):
• Generic Aptitude including Quantitative Aptitude
• Reasoning Abilities
• Basic English Language Skills
Trade Apprentice (Data Entry Operator / Retail Sales Associate):
• Generic Aptitude
• Reasoning Abilities
• Basic English
d) The candidates will have to qualify successfully through each stage of the selection process i.e.Online Test (Minimum 40%, relaxable by 5% for candidates from SC/ ST/PwBD categories against reserved positions), document verification and Pre engagement medical fitness for being adjudged suitable for engagement.
e) Candidates are advised to ensure that they are medically fit as per IndianOil’s pre engagement medical standard.
