Director of Medical Education (DME), Assam has released an official recruitment notification for the recruitment of 10 Professor posts in Government Nursing Colleges of Assam under the Medical Education & Research (ME&R) Department. Interested and eligible candidates may apply online here.

- Professor of Community Health: 4 No. (UR-3, OBC/MOBC-1)
- Professor of Medical Surgical Nursing: 2 No. (UR-1, OBC/MOBC-1)
- Professor of Paediatric Nursing: 2 No. (UR-1, OBC/MOBC-1)
- Professor of O&G Nursing: 1 No. (UR)
- Professor of Mental Health Nursing: 1 No.(UR)
Salary: Rs. 95,000/- per month
Essential Qualification: M.Sc. (Nursing)
Experience: M.Sc. (Nursing) Total 12 years’ experience with M.Sc. Nursing out of which 10 years teaching experience after M.Sc. (Nursing) Ph.D (Nursing) is desirable.
Required Registrations: The candidates must be registered under Assam Nurses’ Midwives and Health Visitors’ council and employment exchange of Assam.
Eligibility Criteria of DME Assam Recruitment
Age Limit: The candidate should not more than 50 years of age as on 01.01.2026.
Age Relaxation: Category-wise upper age limit relaxation is as mentioned below:
Reservation: Reservation of posts for female candidates will be as per prevailing government rules.
Nationality: Candidates must be Indian citizens.

How to Apply For DME Assam Vacancy 2026?
a) Eligible and interested candidates who are citizens of India and fulfill the prescribed eligibility criteria regarding educational qualifications, experience, and age may attend the Walk-in Interview to be held at the Office of the Director of Medical Education (DME), Assam. Candidates are required to download and fill out the prescribed application form available on the official DME Assam website.
b) Applicants must bring all original documents and certificates related to educational qualifications, work experience, age proof, identity proof, and any other relevant testimonials for verification. Candidates should also carry two recent passport-size colour photographs along with one set of self-attested photocopies of all supporting documents on the day of the interview. Failure to produce the required documents may lead to disqualification from the recruitment process.
