Pay scale: Pay Band of Rs. 14,000/- 70,000/ + Grade Pay of Rs. 6,200/- plus other allowances as admissible from time to time.

Eligibility Criteria of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Recruitment


Age Limit: A Candidate should not be less than 18 years as on 01/01/2026 and not more than 40 years of age as on 01/01/2026 as per Govt. Office Memorandum No. ABP.6/2016/51 dated 2nd September 2020.
 
Age Relaxation: The category-wise age relaxation is as mentioned below.
  • SC: 5 years
  • ST: 5 years
  • OBC/ MOBC: 3 years
  • PwBD: 10 years

Educational Qualification: For Direct recruitment to the cadre of Veterinary Field Assistant, a candidate shall have to pass the full-time HSSLC (Class 12) examination in Science stream with Biology as one of the subjects from recognized Board/ Council/University.

Locality: The candidate must be an Indian Citizen as defined in Article 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India and must be a permanent resident of the State of Assam. As proof of domicile, the candidate must upload a copy of a valid Permanent Resident Certificate issued in Assam for educational purposes.

Mandatory one year Training: The selected candidates shall have to undergo a 1 (one) Year Training in Elementary Knowledge of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science at the School of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Assam, Ghungoor, Silchar and its extended campuses under the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department and shall have to pass the said training mandatorily before appointment.

For PwBD Category Candidate: To be eligible for consideration under PwBD category, a candidate must possess Benchmark Disability of 40% or more and must produce necessary certificate issued by the competent authority.

Selection Process For VFA


For selection of qualified candidates for recruitment to the entry level cadre of Veterinary Field Assistant or its equivalent post, an OMR based written test of 120 minutes duration shall be conducted for 100 marks against 100 questions of Class 12 standard in the following subjects, namely:
