Eligibility Criteria of RRB NTPC Recruitment
Age Limit: Age limit must be between 20 to 33 years as on 1st July 2026.
Age Relaxation: The relaxation of upper age limit for reserved categories are as follows:
Educational Qualification: Candidates must be a Graduate from a recognised University.
Medical Standard
Application Fee: Candidates have to pay an application fee as mentioned below:
Refund of Fee: Candidates belonging to PwBD, Female, Transgender, Ex-Servicemen, SC, ST, Minority Communities, and Economically Backward Classes will receive a full refund of Rs.250/- after the examination. All other candidates who paid Rs.500/- will receive a refund of Rs.400/- after the examination.
Mode of Payment: Candidates can pay their examination fee using online payment methods such as Credit or Debit Card, NetBanking, and UPI. No other modes of payment will be accepted.

Selection Process
The recruitment process of RRB Section Controller posts consist of following stages
a. Single Stage Computer Based Test (CBT)
b. CBAT
c. Document Verification
d. Medical Examination
Computer Based Test (CBT)
The 120 minutes CBT with total marks of 100 is of screening nature and the standard of questions for the CBT will be generally in conformity with the educational standards prescribed for the posts. There will be negative marking and 1/3 mark shall be deducted for each wrong answer. The normalized score of CBT shall be used for short listing of candidates for CBAT as per their merit.
Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)
Candidates equal to 8 times the number of vacancies will be selected from each of the communities i.e. UR, OBC-NCL, SC, ST and EWS (including ExSM) for the CBAT. They shall be short listed based on their performance in CBT. Such shortlisted candidates should produce the Vision Certificate in the prescribed format.
Candidates will have to qualify in each of the test batteries of CBAT for considering them for the post of Section Controller. There shall be no negative marking in CBAT. The merit will be drawn only for the candidates qualified in the CBAT.
Document Verification (DV)
The final merit list will be prepared by giving 70% weightage to the marks obtained in the Computer-Based Test (CBT) and 30% weightage to the marks secured in the Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT). Based on this combined score, candidates will be shortlisted according to their order of merit and preferred Railway options. Candidates equal to the notified vacancies will be called for Document Verification (DV).
