Age Limit: Candidate age must be between 18 to 33 years as on 1st January 2027.

Educational Qualification:
Junior Engineer Electrical: Three years Diploma in (a) Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics Engineering OR (b) a combination of any sub stream of basic streams of Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics Engineering from a recognized University/ Institute
Junior Engineer Civil: (a) Three years Diploma in Civil Engineering or B.Sc. in Civil Engineering of three years duration or (b) a combination of any substream of basic streams of Civil Engineering from a recognized University/ Institute.
Junior Engineer Civil: (a) Three years Diploma in Civil Engineering or B.Sc. in Civil Engineering of three years duration or (b) a combination of any substream of basic streams of Civil Engineering from a recognized University/ Institute.

Examination Fee of RRB JE Recruitment
Candidates have to pay an examination fee as mentioned below as per their categories or community:
Payment Mode: Candidates can pay their exam fee through online mode using options like Internet Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card, or UPI.
Selection Process
The selection process of RRB JE and other allied posts shall comprise of the following stages:
(i) 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT-I)
(ii) 2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT-II)
(iii) Document Verification (DV)
(iv) Medical Examination (ME)
CBT I:
- Exam duration: 90 minutes. 120 minutes for candidates eligible to use a scribe.
- Total questions: 100 questions.
- Nature of exam: The 1st Stage CBT is a screening test used to shortlist candidates for the 2nd Stage CBT.
- Question standard: Questions are generally based on the educational qualifications and/or minimum technical qualifications prescribed for the respective posts.
- Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted for the 2nd Stage CBT based on their normalized scores and merit.
- Negative marking: 1/3 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.
- Minimum qualifying marks:
- UR: 40%
- EWS: 40%
- OBC (NCL): 30%
- SC: 30%
- ST: 25%
The section wise Number of questions and marks are as below.
CBT II:
- Shortlisting: Candidates for the 2nd Stage CBT will be shortlisted based on their normalized marks in the 1st Stage CBT.
- Number of candidates: Up to 15 times the community-wise total vacancies notified for the respective RRB will be shortlisted, based on merit.
- Exam duration: 120 minutes.
- 160 minutes for candidates eligible to use a scribe.
- Total questions: 150 questions.
- Negative marking: 1/3 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.
- Minimum qualifying marks:
- UR: 40%
- EWS: 40%
- OBC (NCL): 30%
- SC: 30%
- ST: 25%
