The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released official notification of All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE) 2026 for the admission into to Class VI and Class IX in 33 Sainik Schools across the country, for the academic year 2026

Eligibility Criteria of Sainik School Admission


Candidates wish to appear for AISSEE 2026 session must have following educational qualification

Class VI: 


a) A candidate should be between 10 and 12 years of age as on 31 March 2026. The candidate must have been born between 1 April 2014 and 31 March 2016 (both days inclusive). Admission is open for both boys and girls. 

b) Admission for Girls is open for Class VI.

Class IX: 


a) A candidate should be between 13 and 15 years of age as on 31 March 2026. The candidate must have been born between 1 April 2011 and 31 March 2013 (both days inclusive). Admission is open for both boys and girls.

b)  Admission for Girls is open for Class IX, subject to availability of vacancies.

c) He/She should have passed Class VIII exam from a recognized school at the time of admission.

Examination Fee of AISSEE 2026


Candidates appearing for AISSEE 2026 must pay an application fee as mentioned below. Application fee must be pay only through online mode.
  • SC/ST: Rs. 700/-
  • Others: Rs. 850/-
The exam fee is also required to be paid online through payment gateway, using debit/ credit cards or internet banking or UPI.

How to Apply for Sainik School Admission ?


Students who are interested to join in Sainik Schools across the nation must submit online application form. Online application will be available from 10th October 2025 onwards at National Testing Agency (NTA) website. Candidates may follow below mentioned steps to apply online for AISSEE 2026.
 
Step 1: Scroll down, go to important web-links section.

Step 2: Click on "Sainik School Admission Form".

Step 3: A new web page will be opened.

Step 4: Enter all credentials as required and make fee payment as per your category.

Step 5: Finally submit the form.

AISSEE Qualifying Marks

 
i) A candidate is eligible for admission to the Sainik Schools, if he/ she secures a minimum of 25% marks in each subject of the exam and 40% marks in aggregate of all the subjects of AISSEE 2026. However, admission will be based on relative merit (in AISSEE) of candidate in his/ her category in the school opted by him/ her, medical fitness and verification of requisite documents.

ii) However, no minimum marks are prescribed for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe category. They will be admitted on the basis of inter-se merit at the Entrance Examination within their respective categories, subject to their meeting the eligibility requirements, medical fitness and verification of requisite documents.

iii) In case an SC/ST/OBC(NCL) category candidate comes in the general merit on his/ her own, he or she would be admitted against general seat and will not be adjusted against the reserved share of SC/ST/OBC(NCL) seats.

National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the admit cards of All India Sainik School Entrance Examination (AISSEE), 2026. Candidates who have submitted their online applications for this entrance examination may now download their admit cards from this page as well as from the official website of NTA
