Gauhati University has released the admit card for the entrance exam of various postgraduate courses. Candidates who have applied for Gauhati University Post Graduate Entrance Test (PGET) will be able to download their admit card from the official web portal. Eligibility Criteria for GU PG Admission
Here is the eligibility criteria for admission into various post graduate courses under Gauhati University.
For new CBCS:
For the students who are passing out this year under the new CBCS course, there is NO requirement of Honours / Major course for admission into a postgraduate cours in any subject. All you need is a minimum credit of 24 (twenty four) in the concerned subject (for traditional subjects) to be eligible to seek admission.
For non-CBCS:
BA/BSc/BCom (in 10+2+3 pattern) with Major/honours courses in the concerned subject or B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. (in 10+2+3 pattern) with a general pass course with at least 45% Marks in the concerned subject as well as in aggregate or equivalent CGPA. [45% Marks is to be calculated on the basis of marks obtained in Part I and Part II of the (2+1) pattern and part I, part II and Part III of the (1+1+1) pattern are eligible to seek admission to the University. However, certain specific eligibility criteria have been fixed by the concerned departments and these are applicable especially for the interdisciplinary subjects.
The admissions will be conducted entirely on the basis of Entrance Examination.
Application Fee of GU PG Admission 2023
The registration fee is to be paid online while submitting the online application form. It includes the Application Fee of Rs.1000 (one thousand) for one subject / Rs.1500 (one thousand five hundred) for two subjects / Rs.2000 (two thousand) for three subjects.
The Registration Fee is Non-Refundable.
Kindly see your eligibility criteria before proceeding to pay this fee. Depending on the online payment gateway an applicant chooses, there may be mandatory bank charges apart from the registration fee, which needs to be paid.

How to Apply for Gauhati University PG Admission?
The admission process to various PG Courses under Gauhati University will be done through online mode. Online application process will be started from 5th June 2023. To submit an online application, pl follow the below mentioned steps.
Any prospective student who wants to apply to Gauhati University and its affiliated colleges for admission into any postgraduate course MUST first register with the Department of Higher Education (DHE), Assam and and obtain the DHE Unique ID. To obtain the DHE Unique ID, please visit http://dheonlineadmission.amtron.in/sp/ and follow the instructions there.Once you obtain the DUI, please come back and continue filling up of GU admission form. Without this DUI, you will NOT be able to submit GU Admission Form.

GU PG Common Entrance Test
There will be a Common Entrance Test for admission into different Post Graduate Courses to be conducted by Gauhati University (both for the University Departments and the Affiliated Colleges of the University) for the session 2023-2024. Admissions will be based strictly on the performance and eligibility criteria of the Entrance Examination.

Type of questions: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
No of questions: 100
Negative marking: For each wrong answer, a 0.25 mark will be deducted.
Duration of exam: 2 Hours.
A student can opt for appearing in the entrance examination for a maximum of three subjects (one traditional and two interdisciplinary). However, applicants should refer to the overlap of examination dates for two subjects, if any, where they would like to appear in through PGET, so that both the subjects do not overlap in the same session.
