Eligibility Criteria of Assam Polytechnic Admission
Educational Qualification: Candidate must pass the H.S.L.C. or its equivalent examination in single sitting with Mathematics and Science as compulsory subjects (without grace marks in Science and Mathematics). Candidates also must have passed individually in both Theory and Practical/ Internal Assessment examinations in Mathematics and Science.
Resident-ship: Candidates must be an Indian Citizen and a Permanent Resident of Assam. Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) must be produced at the time of Counseling. Otherwise his/ her seat may be cancelled at any stage of his/ her study.
Age Limit: Candidates' age must be minimum 16 years as on 31st December 2026. There is no upper age limit for admission. Candidates must be born on or before 31st December 2010.
Physical Fitness: A candidate must be physically and mentally fit. Candidates will have to produce fitness Certificate at the time of admission from a registered medical practitioner (optional).

The application fee of PAT 2026 is Rs 300/- plus bank charges as applicable.

Assam PAT 2026 Counselling
The Directorate Of Technical Education, Assam conducts counselling for the candidates who have qualified Assam PAT entrance exam. The date and venue of the counselling will be published along with the results. Qualified candidates will go through an interview round that will be held to select the candidates provisionally for admission. After that, the choice of diploma course and branch of engineering of a candidate will be purely on the basis of marks scored by the candidate in the entrance test at the time of the interview. Candidates once admitted will not be considered again for any other course.

How to apply for admission PAT Application 2026
The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Assam has begun the online application process for diploma courses at the polytechnic institutes in the state.
Candidates who wish to pursue diploma courses can apply online at https://dte.assam.gov.in/ Students who have passed matriculation with technical subjects or vocational subjects are eligible to apply.
