Gauhati University has launched an online portal to issue original certificates to previous year students. Students who have successfully completed any degree course from Gauhati University in previous years but have not been issued an original pass certificate by GU for any reason can now obtain the original certificate by applying through this online portal. The complete process of the online application is given below.
Documents Required
Students are required to produce the following listed documents in digital format i.e. scanned copies in the mentioned formats.
1. Original GU Registration Certificate.
2. Recent Passport Size Photograph.
3. Signature.
4. An ID Proof.
5. Marksheet copies of all the parts of the concerning examinations.

Online Application Process for GU Certificates
Students who wish to obtain their original certificate from Gauhati University can follow these simple steps outlined below:
Step 01: Visit the GU Online Certificates System website at guportal.in (Direct Link Provided Below).
Step 02: Click on the “New User” button.
Step 03: Register by entering the required details, including name, email ID, password, and mobile number.
Step 04: Upload your photo and signature (Note: The file size limit for photo, signature, and ID proof images is 100 KB).
Step 05: Verify your registration by clicking on the verification link sent to your email.
Step 06: Create a request for the original certificate by providing details such as the name of the college and information about your course.
Step 07: Proceed to make the payment.
Step 08: After making the payment, click on “Save” and ensure to print out your payment receipt.
Once you have completed all the aforementioned steps, you will need to visit the Gauhati University Certificate Issuance Department and provide all the documents you used in the online application. Following this, you will need to wait for approximately one month for the completion of the certificate issuance process. The university authorities will inform you by phone once your certificate is ready.
