Eligibility Criteria of RRB Technician Recruitment
Age Limit: Category-wise age limit is as under.
- Technician Grade-I Signal: Candidates age must be between 18 to 33 years as 1st July 2026.
- Technician Grade-III: Candidates age must be between 18 to 30 years as 1st July 2026.
Age Relaxation: The relaxation of upper age limit for reserved categories are as follows:
Educational Qualification:
i) Technician Grade-I Signal:
A) Bachelor of Science In Physics/ Electronics/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Instrumentation from a recognized University/ Institute OR B.Sc. in a combination of any sub-stream of basic streams of Physics/Electronics/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Instrumentation from a recognized University/ Institute.

B) Three years Diploma in Engineering in the above basic streams or in combination of any of above basic streams
(OR)
Degree in Engineering in the above basic streams or in combination of any of above basic streams.
ii) Technician Grade-III:
Matriculation/ SSLC plus ITI from recognized institutions of NCVT/ SCVT in the trade/s as mentioned in the official notification.

Matriculation / SSLC plus Course Completed Act Apprenticeship in the trades mentioned above.

RRB Technician 2026 Selection Process
All the candidates who are willing to apply to the RRB Technician Recruitment 2026 should be aware of the selection stages that they will have to pass to be hired for this role. There will be 3 stages in the selection process for RRB Technician posts. The candidates will first have to clear the CBT examination. Selected candidates after the CBT round will be called up with the documents to get them verified in the Document Verification and Medical Examination.
RRB Technician 2026 Exam Pattern
It is prior for the candidates to understand the exam pattern to know the type of questions, marking scheme, topics to be sked in the exam and other details. Here we have discussed the RRB Technician Exam Pattern for Technician Grade 1 Signal and Grade 3 posts.
RRB Technician Grade 1 Signal CBT Exam Pattern
The first stage of the examination will be CBT and the exam pattern for the same is mentioned in the table and points below. This will help the candidates in better preparation for the exam.
- For the questions left answered, no marks will be deducted.
- For the questions answered incorrectly, 1/3 marks will be deducted.
RRB Technician Grade 3 CBT Exam Pattern
- The exam will be held in CBT mode.
- A total of 100 questions will be asked for a total of 100 marks.
- The time duration will be 90 minutes.
Note: There will be a negative of 1/3 marks for the incorrect answers.
